Now that we're back into the swing of normality, holidays over, kids at school - you might find that you need more treats to help you get through the day.

I had a stressful day with the kids - I've earned something sweet

My boss is wrecking my head - I'm going to grab something to make me feel better

I can't face preparing that presentation - I deserve to Uber in some dinner

What if your “treating yourself” habit isn't really about the treats? What if it's partly about the way you've learned to think about food?

Because if you've spent the day trying to be “good” with food, it makes sense that by 2pm, when you're tired and the day is starting to wear you down, that chocolate bar suddenly looks very appealing.

Almost instantly, your mind turns into a broken record, churning out one justification after another:

"I've had a stressful day"
"I'll be good tomorrow"
"This is the last time"
